Privacy
This page describes what happens to information when you use Densio. There are no accounts, no forms to submit, and nothing you type into the calculator is sent to us. What the site does collect is an aggregate traffic count from Google Analytics — the one thing on this page that did not exist when it was first written, and this paragraph was changed on the day it appeared rather than in advance. The longer version matters because a second change, advertising, is still ahead of us: its disclosure is already written below and labelled as not yet in effect, so that it does not have to be announced after the fact.
What is true today
The site uses Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages are used. That means Google receives the address of the page you are on, an approximate location derived from your IP address, and the usual technical details of a web request; it also sets first-party cookies — two of them, both named with a _ga prefix — so that two visits by the same browser can be counted as one visitor rather than two. Analytics is a third party and operates under Google's policies, not ours.
The address sent to Analytics has its query string removed. Tool pages accept parameters so that a result can be shared as a link or produced without JavaScript, and those parameters can contain the dimensions and weight you entered — so the numbers you type are not part of what Analytics receives. When you use the calculator without sharing the link, they are not sent anywhere at all: the arithmetic happens in your browser.
Nothing on this site requires an account, an email address, or any personal information. The only way to send us anything is to write an email yourself, and that message goes to an ordinary mailbox rather than into a system this site operates.
Outside of Analytics, this site sets no cookie of its own, stores nothing on your device, and runs no advertising code on any page.
What will change when advertising is enabled
Advertising is not enabled on this site today. The disclosure below is written now, before the first ad appears, so that the policy is already complete at the moment advertising takes effect rather than after it. Read it as what will apply, not as what is happening.
When advertising is enabled, ads on this site will be served by Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
You can opt out of personalized advertising in Google Ads Settings at adssettings.google.com, and opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info/choices. Opting out does not remove advertising; it removes the personalization.
What will not change: this site will still not ask you for an account, will still not collect the numbers you type into the calculator, and will still not sell or share anything about you, because it does not hold anything about you to sell.
Until advertising is enabled, any statement you read elsewhere claiming that this site uses advertising cookies is describing something that has not happened yet.
Frequently asked
Does the calculator send my shipment details anywhere?
No. The arithmetic runs in your browser. The page does accept query parameters so that a result can be shared as a link or produced without JavaScript, but that request carries only the dimensions and weight you chose to put in the URL, is not logged against you, and is served with a no-store cache directive.
Do you use cookies or analytics?
Analytics, yes: Google Analytics 4, which sets two first-party cookies whose names begin with _ga (one identifies the browser, one holds session state). No advertising code runs on this site today, so those are the only cookies Densio causes to be set. The page address we send to Analytics has its query string removed, so the dimensions in a shared link are not part of what it reports. Advertising cookies are described in the section above and are not in use yet.
How do I opt out of personalized advertising?
Use Google Ads Settings at adssettings.google.com, or the opt-out page run by the Digital Advertising Alliance at aboutads.info/choices. Both are Google's and the industry's own controls rather than ours, and neither removes ads — they remove the personalization. This site runs no advertising code today, so there is nothing to opt out of until advertising is enabled.
How do I ask a privacy question?
Write to the address on the contact page. Because this site stores no records, there is typically nothing to look up, but the answer to a specific question is more useful than a general policy statement.
